Exchange 5.5 working fine. Client is complaining that new mail is not automatically "announced". It seems as though the user needs to elicit some activity within Exchange for it to report the arrival of a new message. Don't know if it is some kind of timing issue.
Appreciate any help.

Is the client using outlook? if so have them click on tools options, preferences, click on the email options button, and select the check-box next to "Display a notification message when new email arrives"

Thanks for the reply. The actual issue has to do with the push notification of new mail from the server reaching the client.
At 3:00 am I found Q270065 and Q264035 which deal with troubleshooting this problem.
My client uses a PIX for security, and the issue has to do with the passing of UDP packets through the firewall. The port number used varies (1024-65535) from message to message, so you cannot designate a specific pipe.
Has anyone dealt with this issue?

Appreciate any help.
