New look for my site 2

Nice looking site Chris! Seems an effective use of Wordpress.

I guess your finishing touches will include adding some alt text to the images, and fixing those broken links. It's probably not that important these days but your thumbnail images at around 10K to 15K each could probably be compressed a bit more without noticeable degradation.

I would make the Hugh text one word shorter or several words longer so that you don't get that one orphan word under the picture.

Run a spell checker over it as well - availability stands out. I didn't check the rest.

Hi

Nice & clean. Quite standard compliant, although there are some "Error: required attribute "alt" not specified." errors. But i think the "Warning: <a> attribute "target" has invalid value "_new"" degrades the professional look even more.

There is a strange effect in FireFox. When the horizontal menu's Contact link has the focus and is marked with dotted border, it becomes wider and a scrollbar appears under the menu.

Alt attributes added. One of the (few) crappy things about Wordpress is that it has a bad habit of removing empty [tt]alt=""[/tt] attributes when you add them. I think I've got them to stick where I want them though.

Broken links? There shouldn't be any, but I'll run Xenu over it when I get home.

Spelling and Hugh description changed.

Alt attributes fixed as above. No apologies for using [tt]target[/tt] to open a couple of links in new windows - it's simple and it works. I can't be bothered to add a Javascript dependency for something I do so rarely. Anybody who goes to my page, validates it, and takes umbrage at my use of the target attribute is too techie to need my professional services anyway.

I noticed that thing with the Contact button this morning, though I hadn't spotted that it was the focus border that was causing the problem. I think it's a bug in Firefox, but I'll have to do some tinkering to fix it. In the mean time I've made that link shrink by a pixel when it gets focus, which is a bit crap but less obtrusive than the scroll bar. Ho hum, makes a change from fixing IE bugs.

*s all round guys.

Very nice Chris.

A clean and elegant site which is very easy to navigate and the colour scheme blends in well. The content is well displayed and easy to read. The only "odd" thing that I noticed was that there is a scrollbar on the contact page which doesn't seem necessary.

Sorry, I was unclear. I have nothing with [tt]target[/tt] or with opening links in new windows. ( Ok, I had, but I solved it with Target Killer. ) I meant the value you used is not standard. The standard one matching your goal is [tt]_blank[/tt].

Very clean.

Why do you resize your logo image from 100x100 (its actual size) in the html to 114x114 in the stylesheet?

In IE6 (all I have at work) when I increase the font size to largest the menu wraps (not a major problem), but it overlaps the logo and looks just a teensy bit off.

All in all, a very nice job.

I like the cleanness of it. I will point out that in IE6, in your contact page, the submit button is hanging below the white content div. Appears like a floating issue. Besides that little thing, it's a very nice website and at least in IE6 looks good.
