When I installed a new J179, it registered to the SE as a "generic" SIP extension rather than an Avaya J179.

The phone works, but only generic features available.

We have a SE running the latest, R11.1.3

Any help is appreciated!

Often happens if you've added a 46xxsettings.txt file to the IP Office. If so, you really should let the IP Office auto-generate the 46xxsettings.txt file for itself and you put any custom settings required in via NoUser Source numbers and/or a 46xxspecials.txt file.

?What is the exact product ID on the label under the phone (a 9-digit number starting with something like 7005).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
