I need to install a new instance on SQL Server 2005 running on Small Business Server 2008. I am having to do this remotely and the guys on site dont have the installation disks.

Can I use the installation file for SQL Server 2005 express which I can download to install a new instance? Will this have any affect on the current installation at all?

or is there any other way to install a new instance without the disks?

Thanks

Andrew

The express edition has some major size limits which you'll have to deal with. You can install it without issue on the SBS server.
