New Instance of Access starting

Hi All
I have an Acc 97 db that is opening another instance of Access on it's own accord. I know there is no code at all to create it and I can't really pin point when it happens.

Does anyone know of how this can happen or has anybody else had the same problem?

What exactly do you mean with another instance?

Another Access shows on the taskbar. When you maximise it, it has no database window and the only way to shut it down is using task manager. Hope thats clearer
