Hey -

I need to install a brand spanking new instance of MOSS 2007 on a brand new server. We've got SQL Server 2005 enterprise. Which I have to set up also.

I'm totally green when it comes to setting up SQL Server. I believe that during setup, I need to apply an admin account to SQL server. I think it will give the option to use either Windows authentication or something else. I think my boss wants me to use the "something else", (other than windows authentication). Will I be able to install MOSS and connect to this SQL server if SQL is configured without using windows authentication?

Thanks,
Rob

The options you have are Windows authentication or "mixed mode", which allows both Windows and SQL account logins. You can manage application logins with mixed mode authentication.

If you didn't select mixed mode authentication at install, you'll have start over. I'm surprised that you didn't see this option when you installed SQL.

I used to be happy programming. Now I'm miserable project planning. Hey, at least the money's good.
