New install password?

I just installed XP and at the end typed in my name, try to logon and it keeps telling me "The system cannot log you on due to: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"

I tried no password, blank and several other things with no luck

Did you intend it to join a Domain, and request this option during Setup? Or did you just want it to be a standalone machine?

Have you a username (and set up a user) on the Domain it seems to have joined?

In any Login Box do you have a dropdown option for logging in locally (to this machine), perhaps as the built-in Administrator, with a blank password? What about from Safe Mode?
