Hi, I'm new with the websphere and I've been asked to install WebSphere Application Server 5 on W2000. ? I've got a lot of CD's and I don't know what they are and the order to install them. Can anyone help me? These are the CD's I've got:
* IBM Directory Server 4.1.1
* Application Server, IBM HTTP Server
* DB2 Enterprise Edition v7.2
* Application Clients
* Application Server Toolkit
* DataDirect Technologies, JDBC Drivers
Thanks

Only a recommendation..
First install db2 7.2. While installing select the db2 enterprise (I think the first selection).After installing it.
Find the sqllib folder.There is a folder named java12.
In that folder, there is batch file;use jdbc20.bat.
After these steps close all of the applications
and install the Webpshere Application Server 5.0. This tool if you don't change the default setting it will install IBM Http Server also.

It depends. If you're just trying to get it installed to experiment, you need only the WebSphere 5.0 base product CD for Windows. There is no database repository like previous versions, and it includes its own web server for administration and testing. So, there is no immediate need for DB2. If you plan on connecting to DB2 or Oracle at some point, you can always add that functionality later on.

When you're ready to scale to multiple systems, you can begin looking at the Network Deployment and Edge CDs.
