We just purchased two new HP1200 LJ's to use with a serial to parallel interface from Blackbox. We've used this combo many times with many different HP Ptrs. We cannot get this to work with the 1200. If we connect directly to a laptop it works fine. Connect through the interface, NOTHING.

DOes anyone have any information or suggestions about what might be going on here?

Thanks in advance.

Bob

How about connecting thru the laptop serial and the converter.
And once you get the converter working with the laptop try booting DOS and dumping thru the serial.
If it will print through DOS and the serial port it will print from Unix.
But probably the first step is to try printing from DOS (not DOS window) and the parallel port to see if there are problems there. Or thru a parallel port on the Unix.
Problem may be related to the drivers/handshaking that is installed on the later printers.
