New computer, AMD AthlonXP 3200[2.20GHZ 400], Corsair Twinx 2x512MB XMS3200 PRO, ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128 DDR AGP G'Card, Maxtor 6 80GB [YO80PO SCSI DISK DEVICE], EPOX 8RDA+ Mobo. Win XP HOME 2002 and SP2.

System just seems to hang at random and when i try to run any demanding programs. First indication is that mouse just freezes, only procedural solution is a re-boot. Every thing is new other than the mobo?

I have put the updated drivers on for the mobo & G'card and now not sure what to do? Any help or idears would be cool, thank's peep's and sorry if i have wasted any1's time.

Sounds like a heat problem. Do you have any way to measure the CPU and system temperatures? If nothing else, next time you have to reboot, go into BIOS and check the temps from there. Other things to try: in BIOS, select "minimum" or "safe" boot. Try one stick of memory at a time. Run "memtest86" (yes, new memory can be bad). What size power supply? Should be at least a 350-400 QUALITY psu, the "cheap" ones that come with a new case aren't known for "reserve" power.

Thanks micker, it is running at 35-39oc and i have a 550w power pack, the memtest is ok, but it only seems to lock up going from 2D to 3D graffix, do you know of any free performance tests i could download as a sort of diognostic tool or just to test my hardwere?

Windows has a program called "DX Diagnos" built in. Just go to "Help", and look under "DX".

Your temps seem OK, if anything low for the CPU are these case temps of CPU?
Have you connected an additional Molex connector to the graphics card?
All drivers up to date?
DX9.0C
Latest ATI Radeon Catalist drivers
Latest Nvidia platform drivers.

I just noticed that this "appears" to be an early Nforce2 motherboard? that doesn't have official support for 400fsb.
If this is a pre Nforce2 400 ultra chipset? (266/333 official only) then I know many users had problems supporting XP3.2+ (400fsb CPU's) the early Nforce2 was very flakey above it's native 333fsd supported speeds although many users were sucessful as many were not.
I've only gone on the motherboard model numbers you have supplied so newer board revisions may have the later 400fsb chipset.
