This is just something (don't recall whether we've discussed or not) in Windows 7, Windows Explorer, that has been REALLY helpful to me. I think it was already in Vista, but I never paid it any attention. Basically, I didn't need it enough at home until I began noticing it at work.
It's the way the address bar works with 7 (and I think Vista as well).
Since I end up saving to and opening from MULTIPLE different folders on multiple different network drive locations, it can get cumbersome remembering them off immediately offhand... sometimes have to search for something I just accessed last week. Besides that, the way many programs default to look in "My Docs" for data means I have to browse to the files every time.
There's a nifty little feature in Windows Explorer now that has helped me a ton here. There are actually several pieces to it that are really good, but this one thing just sticks out to me particularly over the past couple of weeks (after taking care of an odd Win Explorer issue for Win7 over our current network hardware - has to do with network tunneling, etc... was causing Explorer to freeze up - lots of references out there on the topic).
The feature is this: Most Recently opened/accessed folders being listed with a drop-down menu from the address bar. So whether you're trying to browse to a folder, save or open to/from a folder, you can get it in say 2 clicks instead of 10 or 20.
Also, you can click on higher folders in the directory from where you "are" to quickly move up in folders - without an Up Folder icon, which I used to depend on. And of course, the explorer address bar has loads of different ways of copying/editing/etc... it's VERY advanced, and I don't think we give MS enough credit on this one, b/c most other "explorer" type apps I've seen and used do not come close to giving as much functionality in such a small area.
