New HDD installed floppy not working

I just installed a new Maxtor 20GB HDD. I replaced a dead HDD. I ran the bios and it was detected. I saved and exited. I then put in the Maxtor floppy and rebooted the system. I now get a message that the floppy is not working. I checked all of the connections and they are OK. Any help will be appreciated.

Rich,

Have you tried to boot using any other floppy, perhaps a W98 boot disk? It may be that the actual Mactor floppy is a lil' fubared.

What was the atual error msg? and what is the rest of your system setup like?
