So, I bought a new HD recently, partitioned it, etc.
I wanted it to be the new boot drive, so I copied all from my old HD to my new one.
Well, after, it wouldn't boot to Windows on my new HD.
I really don't remember the error message, but it just said that there was an error.

Copied as in copy/pasted or copied as in cloning the disk image? File copy will not create a bootable drive. You need a lower-level copying tool like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost to create a bootable drive.

Always write down every word and every digit in any error message. but I'll bet yours was a MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION...

Well, actually, I used the software that came with the HD, the Seagate software. Well, I tried the Acronis True Image, and it worked oddly.
Well, thanks at least for telling me about the software, it worked out well, and I just might buy it.

It's a good investment of $30. Glad you got it sorted out.

See also thread751-1288237 - it looks like a free version of Paragon Exact Image 7 SE is still available.
