Hi.
Just changed a NIC on our RetHat 7.3 proxy (squid).
But now when I do an IFCONFIG, all I see is the loopback adapter.
The new NIC is a 3com 3c905 100mb PCI but Linux doesn't see it or announce its presence.....
I know this is an easy one but I can't remember how!

Try:
modprobe 3c59x

That appears to be the module for that particular NIC. --

do you know if there is a module for the etherexpress pro/10 PCI card? I am having (a lot of) trouble loading this card.

It would be better, when asking a new question, to start a new thread. If F1lby is satisfied with flugh's answer and awards flugh a star, then a lot of members will stop examining this thread. This reduces the pool of members from which you can get answers.

Try running "/usr/sbin/kudzu" to detect and install the new hardware automatically.

I am actually on the pro/10 but this is a good starting point for me, thanks.
