I have bought a new hard drive and want this as the primary drive but would like to keep the older hard drive connected as the secondary drive.

The thing is:

I have a SCSI CD-Writer and I copy a lot of CD's. The standard CD Drive is the secondary master.

Does the old hard drive go as secondary slave to let the CD Drive run at a good enough level for the CD-Writer to use for copying CD's straight off?

Any ideas?

Cheers

Yes, that will work no problem. Your hard drive is WAY more demanding than the CD-ROM. Manufacturers also claim no speed loss on with channel sharing on an IDE port. So either way, you are good to go.

Ciao
