Hi there,

Just creating some artwork in illustrator cs, and just wondered that when creating new guides in illustrator, is there an option to actually determine where to put the new guide?, by text input. I know in photoshop when you create a new guide, it appears with the option to input where you actually want to put the new guide.

Any help would be very much apprecited.

There are several ways to skin this cat.

1. Drag a guide out from one of the rulers, then unlock it (Ctrl-Alt-; or View>Guides>Unlock), and enter its desired position in the Transform palette (Shift-F8).

or

2. (This is my preferred method) Draw a line (or circle or any shape you want), position it using the Transform palette, then go to View>Guides>Make Guides or Ctrl-5, voila it's now a guide!

HTH
