New Groupwise System and existing archives

okay so here is my problem...i recently wacked my install of groupwise and re-installed from scratch...i have tried to use the FID editor to edit the FID of the archives from my old system but i can not change them...i know i can not be the only person to completely re-install groupwise and need to give users access to their old archives....any ideas would be appreciated....This could possibly be a huge deal if i can't get it too pan out right thanks in advance...
