I just built a new Mac running OSX, Installed FM pro 7 and on the client(running FM7 windowsxp) i'm testing it on I can see the server but none of the databases show up.

Basically I goto File > Open remote > and under local host the server is there but no databases.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong...

oh and yes I have a couple of databases running on the server.

thanks

Chances are FM is taking the path you used during development of the files....

How did you bring th files to the server ¿

Copied from a FM 5 server

I do know this since I am in the same boat as you, you must convert the FM5 and FM6 files over to FM7 before FM 7 can view them, if you try and open an older version of a file in 7 it should ask you to convert.

it did, yeah somehow i missed the whole file sharing being turned off thing when you reinstall the mac OS

As the admin you should have the option to go back in and turn file sharing an, however that should not effect the conversion of files from later version to new version. Trust me I have been working on this for 3 weeks now. Upgrading from 5/6 to 7 is a biggggg pain in the REAR.After you convert the data you still need to recreate the relationships and the layouts. It isnt fun, especially when you have about 15 DB and each have about 3 relationships and 15 layouts.

wow, Didn't FM8 just come out too??
