New Fields inserted in View don't show up in my Report??

I'm using CR 8.5 and I have a report that uses a Union. Today I added a field to the base views that are in the Union and the field shows up fine in SQL, but I can't get the new field to show up in my report. Can anyone help with this?

Have you tried "verify database" on the database menu?
 
yes, I've even tried adding the view to a new report but no luck.
 
I solved this myself. This is not elegant but it worked.
In SQL I copied the SQL from the view that wasn't updating and created a new View exactly the same as the one giving the problem. I than deleted the old view and renamed the "new" view to the old name. When I verified the database in my report, Crystal recognized that the View had changed and updated the report so the new field came in as expected.
