new fields added to view "sometimes" show up in edit form

Hi,

The problem I am having that I do not understand is within a sharepoint list if I add a new field to the list and then click on 'New items' or when I edit the item, the field may or may not show up. I then have to go into Frontpage and manually add the field to the newForm.aspx or editForm.aspx. This seems to be a bug or am I missing something? I would rather know that adding the field to a view would add it to these forms too because it takes me a long time to have to go to each list and modify these aspx pages.
