Hi guys

We are deploying an Exchange 2007 server in Chicago and another in Boston. There are going to be no more than 50 mailboxes in each site. The two sites will be linked with a VPN. We wish to use the same domain name in both sites.

My question is - should we design the Active Directory so that the Boston site is a child domain of the Chicago site or just have a single domain and separate the users in organisation units?

How would you recommend installing Exchange 2007 in this scenario?

Many thanks
Brad

Hi, thanks for your reply.

So you suggest installing AD in the Chicago site, then installing AD as an additional AD controller in Boston. Then to install Exchange 07 in Chicago and then in a different site in Boston?

Brad

Well, you don't mention what size connection you have between the sites. But I'd put one Exchange server in Chicago and just have everyone connect to that one.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.
