I moved and got assigned new IPS and now I'm unable to connect remotely to SQL Server 2000 through enterprise manager. Also, none of my web site connections are working?

I get errors "Unable to connect to sql server"

I've looked but I can't find a setting to change the sql server ip address.

Does anyone know what i need to do when changing ip addresses for the server?

Thank you

When you change the IP address of the SQL Server the next time the SQL Server starts it will start listening on the new IP Address automatically.

Check the errorlog and event log to see if the server is starting up at all.

This sounds like a bigger problem than connecting to SQL Server.

Also, none of my web site connections are working

You need to start with figuring out why you can't connect to the web.

Then you can work on connecting to SQL Server. The two issues might be related and solved by fixing the first (the web connection).

It almost sounds like you didn't set something correctly when your IP address changed. Right click on the My Network Places icon, select Properties. Right click on your connection and select Properties. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties. Check the IP address and DNS addresses.

If they are correct, make sure you aren't being blocked by a firewall. Some firewall 'overseers' only allow certain IPs through the firewall. If this is the way it's done at your firewall, they may not have added your new address.
