Hi,
At the moment i'm running an Ati Radeon 8500 with a 1GHz Athlon@1.33GHz on an Abit KT7A mobo.
The Athlon is only a 200MHz FSB though!!
As i cannot really afford to change my motherboard and CPU and memory at the moment would i notice much difference if i changed my CPU for a 1.4GHz Athlon with a 266 FSB???

It's defintely not worth it. I suggest save a little. I'm in the same spot with the same hardware as you. I'm going for a Soyo Dragon Ultra board, XP1800+, and 512mb PC2700. It's only gonna be in the high $300. But I could go with a gigabyte board for the cheapest price, or I could in between with an Asus board. Just depends what you want to do and where you go. Check this site out. You'll get good comparisons with Pricewatch, and AIC seems the best for "one-stop shopping".
