New Connection Crashes in CR 2008

I have Crystal Reports 2008 installed on a Windows XP machine. I can open reports created with older versions, but when I go to Create a new blank report, and select "Create a New Connection", CR crashes with an unhandled Windows error.

Do not have this problem on my Vista machine.

Anyone know what is going wrong here?
