I will be working on a new chart of accounts for the next fiscal year. I need to know if an old account number can be linked to a new account number so we can compare data from one year to the next. Also can several old account numbers be linked to one new number?

We did the same thing - have your partner sell you Changer for GL. If you are changing formats like the old account was xxx-xxx-xxx and the new is yyyyyy-yy-yyy-yyyy (or similar) you need to have another product that will help you out. We actually had Microsoft do it for us as it was cheaper to have them use that piece of software than to have us buy it straight out.

make sense?

Sure does.
So you are telling me this is not something that we might be able to figure out in-house.
I'll contact my partner and see what they offer for the "changer" piece of software you mentioned =)

Thanks
