Hi,
It's probably a stupid question, but how does one go about creating a certificate and key for Windows 2000 EFS that will last longer than 1 year? I would like to create a few recovery agent keys that are good for say... 100 years and just leave it at that.
EFS is only used here to prevent casual data theft on lost laptops or removable backups anyway... so long life keys are worth any extra risk.
Our previous EFS keys expired on us, preventing EFS from working. Fortunately it didn't cause too much trouble since it isn't used much.
As an aside, is there a SIMPLE document somewhere that describes the 101 places that a key and/or certificate can be saved!?
Thanks.
