I installed an expansion cabinet on a Magix today. I installed a 412 card in the first slot and a 016 card in the second. I performed a board renumber. The extensions for the 412 card came up fine but the 016 card did not, no system dial tone, and if I call the extension number it is busy. I checked the system boards and saw the 016 card in there. I did a print on the extension directory and I saw the appropriate extensions. Any ideas????

If you do a status on that slot, do you show errors or maintenance busy?

The card shows no errors or maint busy. I did a busy out and reset, then restore but nothing. I am currently onsite (Wed 9:30a EDT)Any ideas would be appreciated ASAP. Thanks

Are you sure that it is an 016 and not an 016 ETR. You can only get 6 T/R ports and they need to be actived as T/R to get dial tone.

A HA! I do have a 016 ETR card. The 016 ETR Card only supports Partner sets, right???? It looks like the boss is buying another card, because we'll wasting 10 ports.

OK, I've replaced the 016 ETR card with a 016 TR card with the same results. I see the extension #s when I do a print of the ext directory, and I see the board when I look at boards. If I plug a pots phone into the 016TR card I get battery but no ICM dial tone. In extensions I went to ETR and it would not let me make the new extension #s as ETR.
HELP!

Did you do another Board Reumber?

It wont let you set ETR, since it's not an ETR board. (ETR's are Partner Sets)

Yes, I did two board renumbers. I tried the ETR thing. I didn't think it would work. I didn't know where else to go.

You might try going under maintenance, slot status and see if your card is in maintenance busy. Also make sure that it is showing up as an 016 TR and not 016 ETR.

I tried that. Next I'm going to change the order of some cards to see if they work that way.

If all else fails and you know your 016TR is working properly, do a backup of your programming and then do a system erase. From MLX 20L - MAINTENANCE - SLOT - 00 & ENTER - DEMAND TEST - 2 blank buttons down from PEAK on same side press button 2 times and erase system programming completely. Then reboot and do a restore from your translation card and a board renumber and that might solve your problem.
