new cables for drives?

I read in a magazine recently that new cables for drives were coming out that would increase airflow inside the case? Anyone have more info on this?
 
Yea I saw something like that too. But if your not having heat problems dont get caught into buying something you dont need. Let everything that have breath praise the Lord.
 
They are rounded IDE cables, I already have them. They are inexpensive and really free up the space in your case. They can't hurt. Plus they have different colors.[smile2]

Could be one of two things you saw: rounded IDE cables have been around for at least a year now and are brilliant for tidying up and helping air flow. OR:
I suspect what you saw read was talk about the new serial ATA hard drives that are just coming into mainstream service, these drives look similar to traditional IDE drives but use a very narrow ribbon cable for connection, about 10mm across greatly improving air flow.
These drives also have the faster SATA 150 interface.
Martin Replying helps further our knowledge, without comment leaves us wondering.
