i just replaced my netgear rt314 router with a linksys befsr41 rev 3 and i keep loosing my internet connection, it totally dies, i can access the router when this happens, i noticed today that when the router is hooked to only 1 computer it works fine and doesnt loose the connection when i renew the ip on the 2nd computer it will load half of a web page then both connections die, i can still access the router from both, both are running win xp pro sp1, with intel pro 1000 ct ethernet adapters, has anyone had this problem? my netgear works fine, but i'd rather have the linksys

i forgot, i have comcast cable with a dynamic ip, i set the router to obtain automatically, i talke with tech support at comcast and they said they dont go by mac addresses or host names, my netgear router is configured for auto and it works fine, it's gotta be a setting within the router, my friend has the befsr41 older version same isp and no problems

Try enabling your mtu on the router to 1500 or 1492 or to whatever the mtu size of your ISP is. Also, try setting static dns on the computer or on the router itself.
