HI, I am about to DL and install apache for the first time on my local PC for some web development. Until now, I have used MS PWS, but I am fed up with it, and want to try something new.

Before I install it, is there anything I ought to know. I do not want to be able to serve to the internet at present, all I need to be able to do is some local development using both php and asp

Any advice welcome,

K

The great thing about this package is you don't have to install each of these then fight to get them to all work together. It's all been done for you. It even comes with a sample website.

I don't know where to point you for asp. You might want to look at chilisoft but they get an arm and a leg for their stuff. Few will argue with the notion of going 100% php and converting existing asp pages to php.
