Hello fellow programmers, I aitan123, am looking forward in learning visual C++. I am leaning towards game programming and have a dream like so many of creating, designing and testing games. I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on where to start (books, websites, tutorials, etc.). All help will be helpfull.

:)

I would suggest you learn standard C++ first, before tying yourself to any single compiler. This will give you some measure of control over all the problems which you'll no doubt face when you change compilers.

In addition, VC++6 is now a very weak implementation compared to the current state of the art - some stuff simply doesn't work, and some other stuff works differently.

Some books to read.
