Hello,

Installed a new 2003 DC (DNS, and so on) in a remote subnet.
Two-way trust with the main network defined
Created a new user account (Domain Users and Domain admins member).
Now I cannot login with this account to the new server, the message is user or password error.
With the normal admin account no problem at all.

What's wrong ?

Thank You and regards

Where did you create the new account?

There are no more PDC's! There are DC's with FSMO roles!

need to make sure that you are logging the account into the correct domain.

Hello,

- I did create the account in the users OU
- Yes of course I'm logging on the correct domain

Could be that the replication do not work correctly ?

Where are you creating this account...on the local domain or the new remote domain? You say you've created a two-way trust, so that tells me it's in a different domain. So where is the account been created, and which domain then are you trying to access? local or remote?

I might suggest you don't be sarcastic when seeking help. When you say "of course I"m logging on the correct domain", that's comes across as being sarcastic and will result in people not wanting to help you any further. While the questions may seem silly, years of experience on our end has shown that a lot of times the first question that needs asked is if it's plugged in.

No one is sarcastic...
You have to read: " of course...." :))

The situation:
We have to integrate a purchased company on the main domain. The "purchased" domain will be an OU in the main.
1st Step: we have installed a Server in the remote subnet and promoted it to DC of the main domain (+DNS, DHCP,..)
2Step: we have create a two-way trust between both domains
3Step: create an account in the main domain with x permissions.
Test: 1)we can login in remote on the new DC as account in the main domain . 2) A day later we cannot.3) New Server reboot and we can again.

Did you check to see if the account was disabled? Check the logs on the server you were trying to logon to to see if it sheds any light?

The account is enabled all the time.

It's ok to answer both of my questions at the same time...do the logs on the remote server indicate anything?

Please close the case.
Thanks to all

Instead of doing that, how about explaining what the final result was so that in case someone else stumbles across this thread in the future it may assist them in solving a similiar problem?

Also...we don't have "cases" around here...we are not your help desk.

1) Sorry but english is not my language and case is the word I know ( problem, or ???? )
2) I've no solution for that
3) Someone else will try to solve the problem
4) It's clear you are not my helpdesk
5) I think I was correct to all have helped me.

Well, I am just so happy to have spent the time here trying to help you only for you to "give up" and not want to provide answers back so that me and others here can try to help you resolve this issue.

I keep a list of users that I will no longer help for any reason on this forum, you are now on that list.

Good luck.
