We have a new issue with our 9621G's... It appears that most of them now have line of "dead" pixels across the displays. We are not sure of when it started, but wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing this... :(

I don't think they are dead pixels.
Perhaps a firmware issue?

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks tlpeter,

I guess I can downgrade my phone to test...

I have seen something similar and i am sure it is the firmware.
Be sure you use SP2!

SP2 is loaded on all 9621G's, only 3 don't show signs of defect...

Funny,
I have seen it on IP Office firmware and it only happens on the last firmware.
I assume this is about the same as the SP2 for CM.

tlpeter,

I just think that Avaya rushed these new phones out without properly testing them... I will load original 6.0.0 firmware to see if the problem clears, but I don't hold out much hope. These are really neat phones overall, but they're not even 60-days old yet and failing.

Thanks

You are right and they did a smart thing.
They do not support them yet on the IP Office.
They should have been supported on 6.1 (ipoffice software version) but now it is delayed untill 7.0 comes out (again ipoffice software)

So they learned there lesson :)
And yes they are very nice phones.
The 9608 will be a great phone by the way.

Did you ever figure this issue out? I deal in these phones and it would be good to know if there is an inherant defect with them.

Did this turn out to be a firmware or a hardware issue?

Reloading the firmware (downgrade to SP1) did not recover the pixels. The line is 1/2" from the bottom on my phone and my coworker has a total of 4 rows of dead pixels. This is not a firmware issue, but a hardware failure...
