Hi All,
We are having epicor 7.2 installed at our site at present.
frontoffice, backoffice, conductor, frx.

This is a new install, we are not upgrading from any previous releases.

we are using w2kserver and sql2k.

Anyone else out there in the same situation who would like to get a thread going for new users

Regards

Jeff

Hi,
I have a question regarding the installation of a new client. Our install instructions are:
1. setup odbc connection same as on the server

2. map network drive to server

3. run ctelwin.exe from the network drive.

all looks ok, but sometimes the ctel.sys file is empty, and the ctel.bin file is always 2,996.
the correct sizes are ctel.sys 10,200 and ctel.bin 7,893
needless to say, when you try the application, the error says it can't write to the ctel.sys file.

Anyone had anything similar ?

hi,
its ok, we were not doing the client install from
the local administrator user . . .

Hi Jeff,

Just for your info, we also run Ebackackoffice 72 with FRX and crystal (via a website ive setup).

We run our clients through terminal services, as its a FAT client and your need some pretty quick machines to run the client.

We use MSSQL2000 on a Win2000 server.

A bit of customization using Powerbuilder, and CWB

Cheers

Hi bbrendan,
we are attempting a citrix install of backoffice 7.2,
all seems to work well apart from user security, we get a popup message about

component 'vsflex6.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

ever seen anything like this when you were setting up client services ?

cheers

jeff

Hi Jeff,

I havent come across that one before. I know at one attmept when I originally installed the client onto our Terminal server I had a failure in one component for the E-Intelligence agent. I had to re-register to the dll, using the regserv from the run command line.

I havent used Citrix before, but I would assume it has a lot of similarities between TS and citrix.

I also had a look on Epicor support site for this but nothing showed up. Doesnt surprise me. There answer book system is crap!.

Anyway keep me posted

cheers
