Hi there,

wonder if anyone has any ideas on the following, on a new system (3300 CX v9.0.1.17), we're unable to transfer calls between handsets.

eg you are on an external call, you press transfer, dial the other Mitel phone, and:
when you hang up/press the (X) key before introducing the call
or:
when you hang up/press the (X) key after introducing the call

the call comes back to you (it is immediately there, eg it doesn't recall you, and you don't need to take it off hold or anything)

If you establish a 3 way conference, then hang up, that works (eg the external call is now connected to the 2nd Mitel phone)

I've compared the COS of the phones, and the trunks, and interconnect restrictions between this system, and another working one, and cannot identify the issue...

Any ideas?

Thanks and all the best for the new year.

Neil.

Also as to my last build a new cos and turn on public access via dpnss and public to public. put the set in the new cos and test

Thanks M1tel,

we have:
Call Waiting - Swap: No
on this system (and other working systems)

changing it to Yes hasn't helped.

public network access via DPNSS and public to public are both set to yes in the COS

created a new COS, changing those 2 options on it to yes, assigned it to two test sets, but still unable to transfer an external call between those sets (both sets can dial externally, and receive external calls)

help :)

Check your COS on your trunk(s)

thanks,

had been checking COS on phones and trunks, but, found the issue.....

me (user error)

I'd been lazily using speakerphone/handsfree in testing, whereas, the behaviour is different if you pick up the handset.

eg, when on handsfree, you can't press (X) to end your involvement in the call during a transfer, whereas, if you are using the handset, during a call, you can hang up, to put the call through without introducing it

thanks for everyone's suggestions

I see you figured it out but you're still a little off. The behaviour will not be different as you suggest.

The X Key is the cancel key. If your are transfering a call (handsfree or otherwise) the X key will cancel the action and return the call to you.

If you are not activating a feature the cancel key will clear down the call and as such it becomes confused with a hangup key.

It is not.
