Never written a line of code in any of the .NET development tools - Where should I start? 1

Experienced programmer in various languages and scripting languages but have never written a line of code using MS development tools.

I am interested in .NET but have no clue where to start.

Could you please point me in the right direction?

I do not want to jump on things one finds online and end-up too advanced or with obsolete material.

I have developed in PHP, ColdFusion (long ago), JS, Unix Shell Scripting (C-Shell) and a couple of 4GL programming tools ...

Time to re-educate myself and bring myself up to speed with the happenings in the MS development world.
