I ran spyware-begone last night and it came back with 40+ hits but it wanted cash money to remove them, the question now is what is the best free download available that will search and destroy?
Also any help on extra firewalss to stop this occuring appreciated (I run zonealarm presently)

Regards, Phil

See faq760-4866 to cleanup.
A regularly updated SpywareBlaster will assist in minimising installed spyware, as will switching browser (Firefox seems a favoured alternative).

SpywareBegone' is on the rogues list of deemed or proven ineffective (perhaps fraudulent) spyware catchers .

It is a reminder to research (and go with) what others are using and/or find out what people might have to say about a 'promising new product'.

Anything that wants money has got to ring alarm bells hasn't it? Personally, Spybot, Adaware & Spysweeper are the only ones I rely on currently and though spysweeper do want money, it's only for subscription in order to get the updates they produce, which is fair enough.

Hail to the freeware though:)
