Netzero "Can't open file exception"

The exact error message is as follows:
Can't Open File Exception: Log file path: "mainexceptions.log" open mode:2 at WinMain
Caused by: Errno exception: call to fopen failed with errno (13) permission denied.

Netzero dial up works fine when I am logged into NDS. I get the error when attempting workstation only?
Windows 2000
any clues?
