Networking XP Pro with NT 4

We have a NT 4.0 server with 98 and 2000 computers on the network. I have just set up a new work station with XP pro and am unable to connect to the server however, I am able to browse other workstations.
I can not find the problem - the workstation sees the server but the server does not see the workstation. The name and the domain are the same on each.
Can anyone help me...

Has the XP machine actually been joined to the domain?

Please try to give in server's run prompt \\"Workstation's name"\"any shared folder name/disk". If you are finding out the workstation's computer name in "my network places" it wome times donot show. Please try ping in both sides.
