networking xp pro laptop to xp home desktop

my xp/pro laptop can see the wifes xp/home desktop. her system refuses to run network setup wizard. her system cannot see mine. i continue to get error messages on her system that... our network is not accessible. might not have permission... contact administrator. network path not found.

how are you networked? do you have a hub, crossover cable, or a router for a dsl or cable modem.

are you using dhcp for ip addressing, or static

netbeui is under vauleadd on the xp cd, that will make it easier to network the 2 computers at home

I never found out what might be causing the setup wizard not to launch... but i got the network up and running without it...thanks for the reply!
