I have 3 computers I would like to network, when I say network I mean I want to share files and the printer between 2 of the 3 computers and possibly Remote desktop connectivity if it possible, all set up with a static IP address. The first one is a desktop with Vista Home Premium on it (we just bought this one, I can get Vista Ultimate on it if I can get the drivers and convince the girlfriend to allow it), the second one is a laptop with Vista Ultimate on it, and the third is a desktop with Linux on it (Debian 4) (wired into router, running headless). If the Linux machine is not accessible from the Vista Home PC it not a big deal. Both Vista PC's are connected wirelessly. Each Vista PC can browse the web do email etc with no problems. The problem is each Vista PC can't see each other. From Linux i can ping both Vistas and each Vista can ping Linux but not each other, I get a "Destination host unreachable" error when I try to ping each other. I have Googled this for 2 days so I am either missing something or I have user errors somewhere or something. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
