I a have two PCs both PIII 500 with 128Mb RAM and need to network them.

What is my best option?

Are there any benefits in using a hub than just a crossover cable ?

If I get 10/100 cards and a 10/100 hub will the network run faster than 10Mb/sec ? Bill Paton

Cross over cable is limiting if you ever want to add more computers. 10/100 everything will run at 100 and is therefore 10 times faster (optimally) than 10.

Money no option, get 3Com 10/100 hub, 3Com 10/100 PCI cards and some cables.

Otherwise skip the hub and make a cross over cable.
