Hi everybody. One of our sites has a Coral IPX which they are happy with. I am investigating the possibility of using our MPLS network to network our PABXs together. We are licensed on all of our other telephone systems to use H323 trunks and can do so with relative ease. The question is, can I network the tadiran to a nortel CS1000 using H323?

Hmm, possibly.

I believe the old IPG card was able to speak H.323 but was discontinued and replaced with the UGW/PUGW which does not. From what I gather the IPG were reasonably popular in the US but not really anywhere else. The UGW/PUGW supports MGCP & SIP.

Not knowing anything about the IPG you might need to contact Tadiran to find out. But if SIP is a possibility CS1k then that'd be the next best option. Or failing that there are 3rd party H.323-BRI/PRI gateways available. There was also the Coral FlexiGate which might do what you need but was also discontinued I believe.

The Coral didn't really do H.323. But does QSIG over IP (to another Coral) and SIP extremely well. I think SIP is probably your best option.
