I wanted to know if it is possible to network a Mac and a PC? I am guessing from doing a pretty good search online that it is not. My boyfriend has a Mac and I have the PC and we do a lot of design and web work... We wanted to try to network the machines, but I just don't think it is possible... unless someone here knows something I don't and that is usually the case.

Yes you can. Plug them both into a hub or switch and voila! they are networked. I suspect that what you really want to know is how to setup a windows file share on OSX. I'm not a Mac guy so I can't tell you how, but I do know that it is a common thing to do.

Gotta love Tek-tips! Hubby just brought home a Mac to sit with the PCs in our network. These links give me just the info I need to make them all a happy family.

been using Mac's & PC's together since Mac OS 9. Works a treat.

Thanks Lawnboy and kmcferrin -
I couldn't figure out the right lingo, thus my lame internet search. Already the mac and the pc hooked up to a switch so thanks for helping me with the language and the places to find the information.
