I have two computer PII and P4 having ASUS and INTEL mother boards . On these two i have installed DUAL Operating System viz Window-XP and Solaris 8. The Network interface card that i am using is ACCTON EN1207D. Under windows the network is working fine (i am using a standard cross cable connection) . The problem is under Solaris 8 i am not able to establish the network between these two computer, i not even able to ping , i have the SOLARIS 8 drivers for the ACCTOn card and it gets installed properly as i am able to ping the ip address of the card that i assign but i am not able to ping the other card (i.e the other computer), the associated file that i have updated is /etc/hosts, /etc/hostname.rtls0 commands that i have been using is ifconfig rtls0 unplumb/plumb, ifconfi-a ,vi editor ,echo and touch, would appreciate all the help to overcome this problem
many thanks
