Has anyone networked a R9 IPO500v2 to an old R3 system via IP QSIG? I had a customer have to do an emergency replacement and wants 4 digit dialing over the network back to the old systems.

Qsig should not be a problem.
You do need a networking licence for qsig on the R9 system.
So perhaps h323 is an option too?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

QSIG will work regardless of release. Not the same requirement as SCN.

I am not talking about a scn but just a h323 link.

Yeah we are going to order a temp license on the R9 system. Since the older systems are set up as H323 trunks, anything special on the R9 side? I don't recall that being an option, only QSIG.

Thanks

You can setup an h323 trunk and then select scn or h450 which is what you need.

I just did this for a customer last Wednesday. I have an IP 500V2 R9 to a 406 R3.2 tlpeter is absolutely correct with a h323 trunk and h450 on the 406. I also created a short code in the 406 to dial the extensions at the remote site. Using 1100 - 1199 for an example. Code is 11XX, the feature is dial, telephone number is a . and the line group ID is the h323 trunk you have created to the remote IPO.
