I have a shared MS Access application on Win NT. I have used the database splitter to split the forms & tables.
The network users access both over the network.
My problem is that when closing down the Server PC, a message is generated on the screen, informing the user of others using the application over the network, although they have previously closed down.
Can anyone help please ?

If the "server" is saying "There are still x users connected...", then there is not much you can do. If you use WindowsNT Server edition instead of NT Workstation, you do not get this message. The users are in fact still connected, but the message is suppressed.

The client computers are constantly touching the server when they are logged on. For example, if the user has a shortcut on their desktop to the database, their PC will access the file every few minutes just to see if the icon on the file has changed. Or if the user moves their mouse over the shortcut, it will access the file to read the data/time stamp.
