I just met a client today who has 3 Magix networked together. The main location has a PRI T1 for inbound/outbound calling, and 2 addl point to point T1's for locations 2 and 3. All three share a third-party voice mail, obviously located at location 1. They use 3-digit extensions, and DID for incoming calls. Their usage is fairly minimal - they dial station to station more than anything else. My problem...they are adding a 4th location; across the street from location 2, and about 20 miles from the main location. Can they switch location 4 through 2 to get outbound lines and voice mail from 1? I am trying to keep them networked because station to station calling is huge to them, but can't put a 4th T1 on location 1. Any suggestions???

If the 4th location is only across the street...and all depending on the amount of stations that are at the 2nd and 4th location, you might want to look at running a piece of cable across the street. It might justify the monthly cost of a PTP T1. You would only need 25 pair cable for 25 TDL phons and of couse protection. Just another avenue to look at.

I was under the impression that there is a max of three nodes when networking a Legend/Magix.

Well, three nodes with centralized voicemail. The reason why it is three is because of the 3 DS1 card limit in the Legend. You can still network another Legend at one of the nodes, and use the UDP for station to station calling. Yet, the mode codes will not pass through a legend, so it would need it's own voicemail.
