We have finally outgrown our Merlin Legend (processor upgraded to Magix 2.2). We are now thinking about purchasing another Legend with Magix processor and networking the two together in the same closet. What equipment do I need to make this happen, and can I just connect the two switches with a crossover cable?

Yes you can, you need 2 DS1 cards and you need to transpose the pairs on the cable between the two DS1 Cards.....it would look like this...
RJ45 1------RJ45 2
pin 1 ------pin 5
pin 2 ------pin 4
pin 4 ------pin 2
pin 5 ------pin 1
All though you will lose some functionality..such as pick-up, group page, calling group members can't be mixed on both systems, all though each switch can call a calling group at the opposite system. As well as other features. The way I did it was to seperate departments between systems, the better way would be IPO, with the system max at 350 stations. Good luck.
