I have a xp pro box setup as a file server, which has been servering 10 xp home machines... I've recently updated 4 of the machines to xp pro, since which I have had issues with the network. None of the machines can see each other when browsing Workgroup computers, yet i can setup a mapped drive without any issues. They can all ping each other, and even have internet connections without any problems so far.

Is there an issue with the xp pro machines trying to take control of the network... I've come across this issue once, when I had OS x server as the main server, xp pro was trying to take over the control of the network...

Any advice welcome, thanks...
